RUDI BRITO

Rudi Brito, Lisbon, 1988, graduated in Artes Plásticas from the Escola Superior de Artes e Design das Caldas da Rainha. He moved to Glasgow in 2013 where he deepened his interest in sound and performative arts. His work was shown at the CCA (Centre for Contemporary Arts), The Glue Factory, Cafe OTO e The Northern Charter, among other venues, before recently moving back to Lisbon. His practice is strongly linked to the idea of interruption, passage and vulnerability. His work has been exhibited at Galeria Zé dos Bois, Galeria Madragoa, Spirit Shop and Balcony Gallery in Lisbon; Casa das Artes do Porto; The Glue Factory in Glasgow and at Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid. Rudi Brito has performed at Out.Fest and Espaço Oporto (Lisbon, PT); Kraak Festival (Aalst, BE); Fuse Art Space (Bradford, UK); The Mining Institute (Newcastle, UK); Cafe OTO (London, UK); Yard Theatre (London, UK); The Art School, CCA and Kolovrat (Glasgow, UK). His sound pieces were released by Nightschool Records, Domestic Exile, Discrepant Records and Akashic Records (UK); Discos Extended (PT); Goaty Tapes (USA).
