MINA ANGUELOVA

Mina Mariova Anguelova (b. 1988, Sofia, Bulgaria) is a visual artist and illustrator whose work bridges the worlds of painting, visual storytelling, and publishing. She grew up in an environment steeped in the arts and music — the daughter of a musician and a painter — and developed a deep connection to art from an early age. In 1992, she moved with her family to Cascais, Portugal, where she continued to explore her artistic expression while studying guitar and piano. She attended the António Arroio School of Arts in Lisbon and earned a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon. Her body of work includes solo exhibitions — such as Virgens Góticas (2023) and O Suspenso (2011) — as well as numerous group shows. Over the past decade, she has illustrated a variety of children’s books published internationally, including A Grande Aventura da Palinha (2025) and A Fada e a Borboleta (2017). In addition to her editorial work, she has collaborated on animation projects and, more recently, founded her own creative space, Ribi Ribi Studio, where she continues to develop projects that merge illustration, painting, and storytelling. She currently lives and works in Almada, Portugal.
